Even in winter with intermittent sun our hot water tank reaches around 30 degrees, which reduces the energy that must be used to raise it to an acceptable level for showers.

Because our washing machine does not heat water it draws hot water from the tank, so this further reduces our use of electricity and makes the solar panels even better value

You may remember you fitted the solar panels to our house in Wexford last year. To say that they have been a success would be a total understatement - they are amazing! I love the idea that a ball in the sky, 93 million miles away, is actually heating our water!

When I was researching into a solar system I researched many different companies. I came across Genersys and was impressed with their web site and the manor in which the handled my initial enquiry. Having contacted a few people on the list of satisfied customers I was even more impressed as to how people rated the company and the service they provided.

At this stage I made contact with David Cooper who sent me all the information on their solar panel system and I was most impressed with the companies guarantee and confidence that they in their product. David answered any questions and queries I had at that time. I informed him that I was not in a position to purchase the system at that stage and I asked him to make contact with me six months time which he did and supplied me with all the information I needed to reassure me of the purchase.

The date of the installation was set to suit both my self and my wife as both of us work full time The insulation team arrived at the stated time carried out the work neatly replaces shelves in the hot press that were removed and removed all unwanted items after the job was completed.

The workings of the system was demonstrated and explained by Conor the instillation team leader. Any questions I had were answered before leaving, a mobile number was given to me in case I wanted any further clarification on the systems workings. I contacted Conor with a query after a month or so, he went over the problem with the system display on the phone. He contacted me at a later date to inform me that he was in the area and would like to call to check the system out.

I am glad to report that the system is working well as I have 3 boys who play Rugby, Football and all sports. In general the shower in our house is a busy place!!!

It is in my opinion that the system was well worth the purchase and will be a great addition to the value of our property and has cut the running costs of the household.

I would have no hesitation in recommending both the solar system or Genersys to anybody. I have only had a pleasant experience dealing with Mr David Cooper and his Staff.

Computer software problem at the start but a replacement was installed within a week of asking so follow-up was good.

I selected Genersys 3 panel system with 300lt water tank after reviewing a number of alternatives on offer. Decision was based on a very professional website, quotation and sales process and excellent reference checks.

My usage of gas and electricity average for the last 3 years was 50Mw per year which is a typical for the size of house. I estimate that if fuel prices continue to rise as they have over the last 2 years my total fuel bill will drop by €1500 to €2000 per year as I no longer need to switch the heating on for water for weeks at a time in the summer and for much less time during the winter.

Payback I expect within 4 years.

Two of our neighbours may be calling you shortly with request for assessment and quote for a Genersys solar heating system.

Our solar system is going great. I’d say it’s even better than last year, probably down to the amount of sun (or maybe I should refer to that as brightness!!!) we’re getting this year. I always used to have the gas boiler on during the summer months (because the immersion is more expensive) with the radiators turned off but still getting the water heated in the tank for baths and showers. This year, I started to use the gas less and less in May, in June I turned on the boiler about twice, probably for a couple of hours to take the chill out of the house, and since late June our Gas has been turned off the whole time. Our last Gas bill was €36, and that’s mainly the connection charge! Even this morning with heavy showers, I had plenty of hot water. I’m hoping at some stage to collate our Gas expenditure over the past few years, might even make an interesting graph, even if it’s just to reassure me that it was money well spent!
