View all news items

Genersys solar thermal panels have been chosen to demonstrate renewable energy at the highly prestigious Faraday lectures, organised by the Institute of Electrical Engineers.

Genersys solar thermal panels have been chosen to demonstrate renewable energy at the highly prestigious Faraday lectures, organised by the Institute of Electrical Engineers.

The lectures, aimed at 14-16 year old school children, named in honour of Michael Faraday, have been given for 75 years and aim to show children cutting edge of technology in order to develop an interest in engineering. The Institute of Electrical Engineers is the world’s largest professional engineering body, with over 120,000 members world wide.

The lectures demonstrate key renewable energy technology, including a frame mounted Genersys 1000-10 panel connected to a radiator, which demonstrates solar heating technology.

The lectures are being given to over 10,000 children in the UK at theatres throughout the country. They are also being broadcast live to schools in Canada, the United States, Japan, India and South East Asia. The lectures will also be given in Hong Kong, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur in March and are being shown on video in Ireland. This year’s lecture, featuring the Genersys panel, is entitled “Emission Impossible – Can Technology Save the Planet?”

You can download the lecture from its website http://www.iee.org/Events/Lectrs/Faraday/2006/index.cfm following the links.

The lectures are also being broadcast by satellite: for details follow the link http://www.iee.org/Events/Lectrs/Faraday/2006/satellite.cfm

Genersys are proud to be associated with this highly prestigious and important educational event.
